2005 Roanoke Virginia

In the fall of 2005 David and Katherine took a vacation to Roanoke Virginia. This was a dual purpose visit. One was to have a vacation, the other was to attend the funeral of Katherine’s Grandmother.

The vacation part went quite well. There was a walk through the Peaks of Otter where a nice lunch was had. Then on to the Elk Trail, where no elk were seen, and finally a drive down the Blue Ridge Parkway. The last was done in such dense fog that at times you could not see the road in front of the car.

The last stop before heading home was to go past the famous Maybry Mill. Here David spent some time walking around on the sloping grass surrounding the pond, taking some of the more interesting photos of the mill.
